PTO NOMINATION FORMS
Would you be willing to lead our PTO next year? The
current board's term has expired and new leadership is needed. Nomination forms
were sent home. Please consider helping you child's school in this way. The
PTO provides many fun and exciting things for our staff and students. From the
After School Movies to Holiday Shop to some great assemblies, the PTO helps make
Jefferson a great place to learn. Come join the team! See any of the current

Assemblies Come to Jefferson
On April 17, the PTO sponsored a mobile planetarium. All students were
treated with a trip through our solar system. A huge dome was inflated in the
gym and classes came down in small groups to hear about our stars,
constellations and planets. A great time was had by all. A big thank you to
Mrs. Mularski for arranging this.
ART TO REMEMBER PRODUCTS DELIVERED!
Many of our children ordered fun products like magnets, pillows and
water bottles with their own art work on it! These were sent home Wednesday,
April25, 2012. Thanks to all who ordered!
ART TO REMEMBER PRODUCTS COMING SOON!
After Winter Break the students will be creating a special art piece
during their art class time. This art work will be sent to Art to Remember and
turned into a beautiful magnet. This magnet will be sent home to you in a
special Parent Order Packet. You can purchase the magnet and a variety of
products OR you can simply return the magnet to the school. No purchase
required. We are doing this as a service to you to enjoy your child's art
work.
STERLING CIVIC THEATRE FUNDRAISER:
Are you attending the Sterling Civic Theatre's productions of School
House Rock in February or Legally Blonde in April? If so, please mention
Jefferson Elementary PTO when purchasing tickets and we will get $2 for every
ticket purchased. What an easy way to support Jefferson's PTO and see a great
show!
BOX TOP CONTEST EARNS $638!
Thank you to everyone who brought in their Box Tops for
the Box Top Contest. Mrs. Wilson's class brought in the most Box Tops- 550!
Second place went to Mrs. Nagi's class with 470 Box Tops. In third place was
Mrs. Smith's class with 376. Mrs. Wilson's class received a trip to the prize
cart for each student. Way to go!
BOX TOP COLLECTION CONTEST!
The
PTO is holding a contest to collect Box Tops for education from now until
February 3! Send in your Box Tops to your child's teacher and we will collect
and track our progress along the way! The class with the most Box Tops wins a
trip to the Prize Cart where EACH child will select a prize! Box tops that are
placed in the bin in the entryway will NOT be counted for the contest. After
February 3, you can place Box Tops in the bin again. Thanks for helping our
students earn money for Jefferson and Thanks to Michelle Montelbano for
collecting and counting all those Box Tops! Great Job

MOVIE FOR JEFFERSON STUDENTS!
On Friday, January 27, Jefferson students who signed up will
attend an after school movie to see the Smurfs. Thanks to all the parents who
volunteered to make the movie event happen. It is one of our students favorite
events. Animal crackers and water will be provided. Please send a beach towel
for your child to sit on if they are attending. PICK UP IS 5:15 p.m. Please be
on time to pick up your child. Students with the last name that starts with A-L
will come out the front doors and students with last names starting with M-Z
will exit from the next set of doors to the South. Students not picked up on
time will be placed in Latchkey and the parents will be
charged.
HOLIDAY SHOP RAFFLE WINNERS!
The holiday shop was a huge success. Everyone had a fun time shopping
and wrapping presents for family and friends. During the week we collected
money for Leader Dogs For The Blind.
Each child who donated put their name in for a raffle drawing.
Congratulations to Alyssa Mularski, Angelina Polath, and Jenell Salmo
whose names were drawn as winners. They received a cute stuffed
snowman decoration.

back! During the week of December 5-9, your child will have the opportunity to
shop for gifts for friends and family right in our school. Your child will
receive a chance to preview the available gifts the week before. For a sneak
peak, check out the showcase in the hallway now! At the preview, your child
will take home a list of available items and an envelop. You can help your
child select items or at least get a price range so you can know how much money
to send. Please send all money sealed in the envelop provided. ONLY
CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED! Volunteers are needed to help children shop and
wrap. Please fill out the volunteer sheet that was sent home and return ASAP.
The Holiday Shop raffle will benefit Leader Dogs For The Blind. All change
your child donates during their shopping time, will give them an entry to the
raffle. The raffle drawing is at the end of the week.
NEW PAINLESS FUNDRAISER DROP OFF!
For years you have been
able to drop your used ink cartridges and cell phones in a basket in the entry
way. We have expanded the painless fundraiser program to include several drop
boxes. You can now drop your Box Tops, VG receipts, Labels for Education as
well as your ink cartridges and cell phones in the appropriate blue recycle box
located in the entry way. There is also a new box for collecting used ink pens,
empty glue sticks, and more! Teachers can also drop these items off on the way
to gym class. So whether you send your items in or drop them off yourself,
raising money for Jefferson Elementary PTO is easier than ever. While you are
there, check out our news on our new bulletin board
too!
FUN RUN PRIZE WINNERS!
Congratulations to Katelynn
Jalosky, Cody Schreiber and Brendan Aaron who were the top three pledge earners!
Together they collected over $400 for Jefferson Elementary School. Any student
who brought in at least $10 in donations had a chance to choose a prize from the
Prize Cart on November 2.
