PTO Meeting Minutes – Tuesday, November 15, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 p.m.
Principal’s Report
Ms. Davis discussed the school wide goals which can be found on the school website. She also explained Title I and how all students, parents, and staff can benefit from the funding that the school receives. More information and parent resources can also be found on the Jefferson website.
Secretaries Report
The minutes from the October meeting were approved by Michelle Montalbano and seconded by Rita Shamooni.
Treasurer’s Report
The report was approved by Karl Miller and Heather Sokana.
Old Business
The after school movie went well.
New Business
Holiday Shop will be December 5-9. Flyers went home for volunteers. It will be held in literacy library room.
A new recycling center is located in the main entryway. There are 5 blue bins that boxtops, labels for education, VG’s receipts, used toner cartridges/cell phones, and Terracycle items can be deposited in.
There is a new PTO link on the Jefferson website that is up and running.
Walkie Talkies have been purchased for all classrooms.
Teacher Representative
Mrs. Ruebelman gave a presentation on bullying. She showed a video, read a book, and explained the concept of a “corner man”. She is trying to teach the students how they can help in various bullying situations.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m. Our next meeting will be on January 10,
2012 at 7 p.m.
