PTO Meeting Minutes – Tuesday, October 11, 2011
The meeting was called to order at 7:04 pm.
Principal’s Report
· Mr. Russell reported on Ms. Davis’ behalf and thanked the PTO for MEAP snacks and for the Blessings in a Backpack fundraiser donation.
· A reminder was given to please limit taking students out for appointments during MEAP testing.
· Parking lot volunteers are still needed.
Teacher Representative
Mr. Russell asked for a $1000 donation for 5th grade camp. All members present voted to give the donation to help defray costs for camp.
Secretaries Report
The minutes from the September meeting were approved by Heather Sokana and seconded by Lisa Erickson.
Treasurer’s Report
The report and proposed budget were approved by Heather Sokana and seconded by Michelle Montalbano.
Old Business
· The updated changes to the by-laws that were approved at the last meeting have been made.
· Fun Run went well, even though last-minute changes to hold it in the gym were made. Most of the teachers and students preferred having it indoors by grade level. The approximate estimate of money raised is $3469.00.
New Business
· The after school movie, Spooky Buddies, will be held on October 21. There will be a $3.00 charge for refreshments.
· No bagels will be sold during MEAP weeks.
· A Harvest Fest is tentatively going to be held on November 11. Two parents volunteered to chair the event. More details to come.
· Holiday Shop will be held December 4-9. More details to come.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:45p.m. Our next meeting will be November 15, 2011 at 7p.m.
